MISSION STATEMENT

“We unite as the community called National Marriage Encounter of North Texas. Our purpose is to enrich marriage. As couples we offer Marriage Encounter programs in a loving, sharing, interfaith atmosphere. We are open to God’s guidance. We depend on the support of our community.”

This is the NMENT Mission Statement. It is our pledge, our prayers and our point of focus.

Marriage Encounter was started by couples and a priest, Father Gabriel Calvo, in the 1950’s in Barcelona, Spain. It came to the United States in 1968 through the Christian Family Movement.

Our group in North Texas was started in 1972 by a couple and a local priest, Fr. Bob Wilson, looking for a program to enrich married couples. National Marriage Encounter was selected for its history of success, sound psychology and interfaith attitude. National Marriage Encounter of North Texas (NMENT) has been in continuous operation in the DFW Metroplex since.

Roughly 3,000 couples have made a Marriage Encounter weekend in North Texas. The organization is nationally and internationally acclaimed for over 40 years.




NMENT is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization all donations are fully utilized to fund marriage enrichment programs.
